Treatments

Every treatment starts with looking and listening. Only then do we decide together what is needed — and what is not.

01

Professional teeth cleaning

45 minutes€ 112,61 – € 146,25
  • C002
  • M03

The foundation of good oral care. We remove tartar and plaque with ultrasonic instruments, polish away staining from coffee, tea and tobacco, and finish your teeth until they are smooth. New plaque clings far less readily to smooth enamel.

What happens

  • Inspection of teeth and gums
  • Tartar removal above the gum line
  • Polishing away coffee, tea and tobacco staining
  • Polishing for a smooth finish
  • Fluoride treatment where useful
  • Personal brushing advice for at home

Gum treatment

80 minutesfrom € 247,56
  • T012
  • T022

Bleeding gums are not normal — they are inflammation. In a gum treatment we clean below the gum line, where the bacteria that attack the bone around your teeth take hold. We measure pocket depth, treat where it matters and monitor the recovery.

What happens

  • Full periodontal examination with pocket measurement
  • Deep cleaning below the gum line
  • A phased treatment plan matched to severity
  • Aftercare and reassessment once healed
  • Findings reported back to your dentist
  • An extended 80-minute appointment

Preventive check-up

45 minutes€ 62,15 – € 95,79
  • C002
  • M01

Most cavities and gum problems announce themselves quietly. In a preventive check-up we assess your oral health systematically, map the areas at risk and agree a plan to keep things that way.

What happens

  • Systematic assessment of your oral health
  • Early detection of decay and gum inflammation
  • Tailored risk assessment
  • Fluoride treatment where needed
  • Advice on diet and habits
  • Agreeing the right check-up interval

Tartar removal

45 minutes€ 95,79 – € 129,43
  • C002
  • M03

Tartar is hardened plaque and brushing will not shift it. We combine ultrasonic instruments with hand scaling, so the areas behind the lower front teeth and between the molars get genuinely clean.

What happens

  • Ultrasonic cleaning for heavier deposits
  • Hand finishing for precision
  • Attention to the inside of the lower front teeth
  • Cleaning around crowns, bridges and implants
  • A smooth finish to slow its return
  • An explanation of where the tartar comes from

Introduction and advice

45 minutes€ 62,15 – € 95,79
  • C002
  • M01

Not sure which treatment you need, or returning after several years away? This is the right appointment. We take a look, discuss what you have noticed yourself and make a plan. Nothing is treated without your agreement.

What happens

  • An introduction with no pressure to treat
  • Assessment of your current oral health
  • Going through brushing and flossing technique together
  • Advice on brushes, pastes and interdental brushes
  • Dietary advice where relevant
  • A concrete next step — or confirmation that all is well

Children's dental hygiene

40 minutes€ 95,79 – € 146,25
  • C002
  • M01
  • M03

Children who learn early that the hygienist is nothing to fear keep coming back. We work calmly, explain everything in age-appropriate language and involve parents in brushing at home. Getting used to the chair is fine; a first visit does not have to include treatment.

What happens

  • A calm, child-friendly approach
  • Gentle cleaning of milk and mixed dentition
  • Brushing instruction made playful
  • Age-appropriate fluoride advice
  • Attention to diet and drinking habits
  • Practical tips for parents

Tariffs per treatment code

In the Netherlands the maximum tariffs are set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa), not by the practice. A dental hygienist invoices per code: M-codes for preventive care, T-codes for gum treatment and C-codes for consultations and examinations. Your invoice is therefore a sum of codes.

Insurance and fees

Dental hygiene is almost always covered by supplementary dental insurance rather than the basic policy excess. For children under 18, preventive oral care is largely covered by the basic Dutch health insurance. We invoice according to the NZa tariffs. Unsure about your cover? Get in touch and we will look into it with you.

Amounts shown are an indication, built up from the NZa codes that belong to the treatment. Because M-codes are charged per five minutes and T-codes per tooth, the final amount depends on what is actually done on the day. You always receive an itemised invoice.
